Suddenly, in the Wink of an Eye, the sky became the most brilliant of pinks.
Welcome to my Shop…or rather my website. Please come in and make yourself comfortable. I have been an Arts and Crafter since the age of 8 years old, when I learned to sew, knit and crochet. Later I became an avid quilter and love spending my free days in my sewing room. Lately I have been discovering the creativity that Graphic Design offers and I’ve been having so much fun! There’s creativity in the creation of the design and yet again in the objects you place the designs onto.
About the company
My company is a new business, and I hope you’ll enjoy my creations. I want to share with you my focus on high quality items that will hopefully bring you joy and beauty. My goal is to use high quality garments to place my designs on; garments made in the USA as much as possible by companies who focus on best practices when it comes to caring for our environment and climate. It’s difficult to find a lot of products that are exclusively made in the US, hopefully that is a changing landscape and we can bring back high quality manufacturing that provides us with long lasting products that will move us away from the throw-away society we have become.
Bella+Canvas
As I researched the available clothing manufacturers for wholesale purchasing, I found that Bella+Canvas impressed me with their philosophy and what was behind it. The following statement can be found on the website at Bella+Canvas:
At BELLA+CANVAS, responsibility means conducting business in a socially responsible and ethical manner, supporting human rights, and engaging, respecting and supporting the communities and cultures with which we work. As long-time supporters of ethical working conditions, our workplace standards exceed those required by both the Fair Labor Association (FLA) and Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP).
I like the fact that they do not use sweatshops in this country or any other! I also found their dedication to being environmentally proactive in making sure that their manufacturing is as safe for the earth as it can be. The three paragraphs below are from the Canvas+Bella website as well and they explain their processes and why they are the best possible for the environment:
WATER REDUCTION
Bella Canvas uses newer, more efficient dye machines, allowing them to use 7x less water than the average manufacturer of clothing. Their efforts to conserve water results in saving 24 million gallons or water a week. The water they do use goes through a filtration system and is then recycled.
ENERGY REDUCTION
Bella Canvas is a green company in everything they do. They capitalize on every opportunity to reduce their co2 emissions. Bella Canvas uses motion-sensor LED lighting and skylights throughout each building, and electric car charging stations to encourage employees to go green.
VIRTUALLY ZERO WASTE
At their manufacturing facilities and LA Headquarters, Bella Canvas produces almost no landfill from their manufacturing processes or from their headquarters in Los Angeles. They are committed to recycling everything that they can’t turn into a tee.
Nothing goes to waste! They have optimized their cutting of fabric to reduce plastic use, and excess fabric is recycled into a number of things like baby bibs or stuffing for upholstery.
Based on their commitment to superior practices in labor and environmental manufacturing, I have chosen to only use their clothing items in my business. This means if you purchase any clothing item from my business it will be sourced from Bella+Canvas, this includes T-shirts, Hoodies, Pants and shorts. I think that you will find their apparel to be exceptionally soft and durable. Even after multiple washings the garments still hold their color and their shape. Clothing that lasts longer, is clothing that doesn’t end up in the textile waste landfills, which is a serious problem creating toxins for the earth and the air and our air.
